Our first contribution was the Buffalo Bill statue on the median section of Washington Avenue, near Parfet Park. This piece was unveiled during Buffalo Bill Days, 2000!

The next piece was a sculpture of Adolph Coors (1847 - 1929) celebrating his dedication and commitment to the City of Golden.

The third additon was Helping Hands, which resides across the street from Foss Drug and commemorates Barbara and Heinie Foss's love of Arabian horses, and the tremendous support they've given to the children of Golden for so many years.

This addition to the collection was sculpted by one of our board advisors (Pat Madison). Entitled Return of the Cutthroat, it commemorates the return of trout to Clear Creek, and is placed between Clear Creek and the Golden Hotel.

Cowboy's Day Off, was unveiled during the candlelight walk in December 2002. This piece sits on the corner of Washington and 11st Street, in front of the Golden Hotel.

The Cowboy is on display at the corner of 13th Street and Miner's Alley (at the entrance to the Miner's Alley Theatre).

Another recent addition to the collection is displayed on the South bank of Clear Creek, East of the Washington Street bridge, behind the new Clear Creek Commons building.

Another school of fish are a great complement to the creek-side area at the base of the new Washington Avenue bridge!

Newsboy was unveiled on December 5th, 2003, on the night of the annual Golden Candlelight Walk.

On December 13, 2003, Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell helped us unveil "Nighthorse on the Mesa," which used Senator Campbell's image as the basis for the figure of the Cheyenne Warrier.

In early February, 2004, the final piece was installed:

Our smallest piece is on display in the main dining room at Fossil Trace.  This piece was purchased jointly by the Golden Civic Foundation, the Rotary Club of Golden, and the City of Golden.

Checkmate, located at the intersection of Highway 93 and Pine Ridge Road, was dedicated on December 12, 2006.  See more photos....

Miniatures are available of Buffalo Bill, Helping Hands, Adolph Coors, and Cowboy's Day Off, as are full-sized copies of Return of the Cutthroat. All proceeds from the sale of these works will support the public art fund. If you are interested in acquiring one of these pieces, please contact the Civic Foundation at (303) 278-9697.
