Mr. Baroch was hired as the Executive Director in October 1993. This a part time position whereby he handles the day-to-day affairs of the Foundation. He also assists with the auction and fund raising efforts. Mr. Baroch spent his career in the mining, environmental and power generation businesses for both large and small businesses. He still does independent consulting for the environmental and power generation business.

Mr. Baroch and his wife, Carol, moved to Golden in November 1991. Mr. & Mrs. Baroch are members of the Chamber of Commerce and do volunteer work for that organization, the Colorado School of Mines, the City of Golden and other organizations in Golden.

Mr. Baroch has been very active in the city organizations since moving to Golden. He was a member of the Vision 2010 Committee, Citizens Budget Advisory Committee, and was an appointed member of the Golden Urban Renewal Authority from 1993 – 1995. In 1995, he was elected from District 2 to the Golden City Council and in 2001 was elected Mayor by the City Council. In 2003 he became the first Mayor elected by the citizens and served in that capacity until 2008. As Mayor, he was is active in several Denver regional organizations.

He continues to serve the community as a member of the Sustainability Advisory Board.
