David
Anderson’s ties to the City of Golden
come from many years of living and
working here. He spent his childhood in
along the foothills and attended Golden
High School in the early 1970s. After
earning an undergraduate degree in
Psychology, two years in the Peace Corps
and a Masters of Architecture from the
University of Colorado at Denver, David
returned to Golden to raise a family. In
1992 he joined his wife and business
partner, Nan Anderson as Principal of
Golden-based Anderson Hallas Architects,
PC.
Mr. Anderson has 27 years of
professional experience and has spent
the past 19 years in partnership
building an architectural firm that
creates, restores and sustains buildings
for municipal, civic and educational
entities throughout Colorado. David has
served as the principal architect for
key projects such as the University of
Denver, Graduate School of Social Work’s
Craig Hall, Dinosaur National Monument,
the Exhibit Hall at Hoover Dam, and
recent work for the Colorado School of
Mines. In addition, David has supported
his belief in the value of the
preservation of the West through
volunteer work on the Cayton Guard
Station in the White River National
Forest and the historic Petticrew Stage
Stop in Springfield, Colorado.
David is an active participant in Golden
First Presbyterian Church, the American
Institute of Architects and the Colorado
Historical Society. Dave served several
years on the Golden Historic
Preservation Board and, for more than a
decade, was a coach for the Table
Mountain Soccer Association. Over the
years, he and his firm have also
contributed time and materials to
Habitat for Humanity.
As a Board Member for the Golden Civic
Foundation, Mr. Anderson’s diverse
background and extensive experience in
architecture and construction will allow
him to contribute much to the
organization’s goals of the betterment
of the City and improvements to various
public properties.
David and his wife, Nan are avid runners
and mountaineers. On any given weekend,
he may be spending his free time playing
soccer, hiking, biking the hills or
running in the annual Colorado Relay for
the Colorado Outward Bound School.
