A note of
thanks from Shelton
Elementary:
This correspondence
is in reference to
the grant Shelton
Elementary received
from the Golden
Civic Foundation to
purchase a laptop
computer and data
projector for
student instruction
in our computer lab.
This set up will
allow the entire
staff and student
body access to the
data projector on a
daily basis for
instructional use.
Being new to
Colorado, Golden,
and the Jefferson
County School
district has
definitely been a
rewarding experience
for me. I realized
at the breakfast how
fortunate I am to
have landed in the
Golden Community.
Few towns offer such
unconditional
support of their
schools, community
organizations and
cultural programs.
Those of you from
Golden might take
for granted the
value of having
families and
generations remain
within the same
community. But I saw
first hand
yesterday, that it
is these people, who
serve o the Golden
Civic Foundation
Board. They continue
the community
traditions, by
giving their time
and expertise to the
opportunities we
enjoy here.
Thank you for your
continued hard work
and contributions to
the Golden Community
and our schools.
Sincerely,
Peggy Griebenow

A note of
thanks from Mitchell
Elementary:
Thank you so much
for your support of
Mitchell Elementary
and our request for
laptop computers to
support our
instruction. On
behalf of my staff
and students, I
would like to convey
our gratefulness and
appreciation. Golden
is a wonderful place
to be an educator
because of the
outstanding support
we receive.
As I was looking
around the room
during the
breakfast, I kept a
running tally in my
mind of the dollars
the Foundation
donated to schools.
I guessed about
$30,000 and I am
sure that I was very
close. I have been
involved in many
different school
districts in my
career, but never
one in which a
single group
supported public
education to such an
extent! Your work is
truly exceptional.
Sincerely,
Kim Summeril

a top priority for
me. I truly

ensuring our
students achieve
success.

A note of
thanks from the
Colorado Mountain
Club:
Dear Golden Civic
Foundation,
Thank you! Your
gnerous contriubtion
of $3000 makes a
true diffference for
The Colorado
Mountain Club. You
are among a small
percentage of Club
members who realize
that donating above
and beyond dues is
what breathes life
into our important
programs.
With your support,
the Club continues
to accomplish great
things--we have
increased our
efforts to protect
Colorado's wildlands
through wilderness
designations, we
have added
innovative
educational
programming for both
children and adults,
and we are working
hard to use
technology that
provides better
resources and
services for
members.
Your donation helps
us secure a stable
future as we near
our 100th
anniversary. Thank
you for supporting
the CMC's commitment
to safety,
preservation and
education.

A note of
thanks from Golden
High School:
To
the Golden Civic
Foundation,
I would like to
express the thanks
and appreciation of
the staff and
administration of
Golden High School.
The Foundation has
always been very
generous in its
support of the
programs and goals
of Golden High
School. The
Foundation always
has a difficult job
of allocating funds
to so many
worthwhile
organizations. The
funds received this
year will be used to
purchase additional
technology resources
such as Smart
Boards, power point
projectors and
probes for the
science lab. The
grant will also
allow us to purchase
reading books,
continue to support
the training of
student mentors for
our bully proofing
program and provide
funding for a new
intervention program
that will support
student achievement.
Without the support
of the Golden Civic
Foundation, it would
be much more
difficult for Golden
High School to
develop the programs
that support student
growth.
What I have found to
be so impressive
each year is going
to the breakfast and
listening to how
other organizations
use their grants to
benefit visitors to
Golden, the citizens
of Golden and
students in the
Golden community.
There are so many
organizations in
Golden that provide
such an incredible
array of services
and learning
opportunities. These
organizations also
help to keep alive
the charm and spirit
that makes Golden
one of the best
places to live and
work.
So again, thank you
for your generosity
and support.
Thank you,
Mike Murphy

A note of
thanks from the
Astor House Museum
and Clear Creek
History Park:
Dear Mr. Baroch
and Committee,
Thank you for
granting the Friends
of the Astor House
Museum & Clear Creek
History Park's
request in part. We
are happy to use the
contribution to make
some needed
improvements in our
ability to serve the
pubic during special
events at the Clear
Creek History Park.
We will definitely
be able to proceed
with purchasing
lightweight tables
and chairs. Then we
will put the
remainder toward
constructing a
permanent shade
structure in the
Park. The tables and
chairs will be
obtained before our
first outdoor events
in May and we will
begin construction
of an appropriate
shade structure when
our research is
complete and ground
conditions allow.
Thank you very much
for your support to
Friends of the Astor

We appreciate all
you do for the
