If your
organization would like to apply for
a grant from the Golden Civic
Foundation, please follow the
guidelines set forth on this page.
Generally,
only one request is considered from
an organization during any twelve
month period. The Foundation does
not consider grants to organizations
which discriminate on the basis of
race, creed or sex. Additionally,
no grants will be made to an
organization whose primary purpose
is to influence legislation or to
participate in any political
campaign.
Charitable
Purposes: The Foundation is
generally supportive of community
and human service agencies which
assist the disadvantaged in their
efforts to be self-sufficient and
productive.
Civic
Purposes: Programs supported by the
Foundation are typically those which
enhance Golden's culture and
heritage and are likely to be of
economic benefit to and broadly used
by the Golden Community.
The
Foundation will not consider grants
for:

Direct
support of individuals

Endowments
-
Research
projects
-
Churches,
church projects, or religious
organizations
-
Conferences,
symposium, or workshops
-
Debt
retirement or operational
deficits
-
General
operating expenses
-
Production of
films or other media-related
projects
-
Preschools,
day care centers, nursing homes,
etc.
-
Programs
designed to influence
legislation or elect candidates
to public office
-
Tickets,
raffles, golf outings or
sponsorships
A letter
requesting a grant should include a
general description of the program
or project and the pertinent
information as indicated below.

Legal
name and address of applicant
organization
-
Contact
person and telephone number
-
Information
about the mission and purpose of
the organization
-
Most recent
copy of IRS letter of
tax-exemption status
-
Organization's financial
statement for most recent year,
and preferably a copy of your
audit
-
Purpose and
amount of grant requested
including problems and issues
the proposed project will
address
Project budget
Resume for project staff
Future funding plans
Substantiation of funding
need and anticipated results
Other funding sources and the
amounts
Only one copy
of the request needs to be
submitted, and it should be noted if
any parts of the proposal are to be
returned. If some of the above
information is not available, please
indicate that in your request.
The Golden Civic Foundation's Board
will consider requests for funds from auction
proceeds in the fall.
Proposals should be submitted to the
Executive Director.
Grants will be disbursed when the
funds are needed by the requesting
organization.
Special grant
requests (typically for special
needs and larger dollar amounts) are
considered as needed throughout the
year.
Organizations receiving grants are
encouraged to recognize the Civic
Foundation in printed material
regarding the specific project and
allow the Foundation to use the name
of the recipient organization in
Foundation publicity.
Please submit grant requests by
October 15th.
The Golden
Civic Foundation is eager to support
those organizations which benefit
the Golden community. Applying for
a grant isn't difficult. Just
follow the guidelines given above.
