SUPPORT YOUR GOLDEN COMMUNITY

Amidst the COVID-19 Crisis

COVID-19 Community Response Fund

The Golden Civic Foundation has a proven, 50-year history of partnering with residents, government, businesses, schools and nonprofit organizations to ensure essential programs and services work together to achieve positive change.

In this challenging time of economic distress and uncertainty, we have formed the COVID-19 Community Response Fund (Fund) to provide relief to City of Golden community members that have been the most critically impacted by the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.

The Golden Civic Foundation will be working closely with the City of Golden and local non-profit leaders to ensure that the grants awarded from this Fund meet the greatest need in our City. Initially, award funds will be allocated to known community-based organizations, including the Golden Backpack Program, the Christian Action Guild and the Neighborhood Rehab Project. These organizations are at the “front lines” at the moment and have experience and a reputable history of providing people and families in our Golden community with the most needed services and support. As this crisis continues to unfold, there may be other unknown needs that arise that the Fund will address at that time.

As we begin to award grants, we will post them on this page.

Note: This is an ever-evolving crisis and we will continue to make updates to our website as information becomes available.

“As we look to mitigate the economic and very personal effects caused by this pandemic crisis, our intent with this Fund is to be nimble in order to quickly meet the greatest needs of the community as they unfold. With our proven, 50-year history, the Golden Civic Foundation has the infrastructure, relationships, and experience to convene community resources to provide immediate relief to our community and also address the longer-term community recovery efforts.”

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

1. DONATE

Hosted by the Golden Civic Foundation, the COVID-19 Community Response Fund will be used to rapidly deploy flexible award grants to Golden-based non-profits, schools and community-based relief organizations for them to administer to the benefit of the community. The Golden Civic Foundation will work in partnership with the City of Golden and Golden-based philanthropic organizations to ensure the Fund has timely response and maximum reach and effectiveness.

The Fund is designed to complement the work of our City leadership and to quickly expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible including community members struggling with access to food, housing, and other financial burdens during the pandemic, as well as economic recovery following the crisis.

Please see additional details on our “Frequently Asked Questions” below for more information.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation to support our community in this time of need. Your donations will make a difference in the recovery of our Golden community.

2. SUPPORT OUR LOCAL ECONOMY

Our local businesses are reeling economically in the wake of the COVID-19 impact. A goal of the Community Response Fund is to provide support for our local businesses and employees. As the situation unfolds, we will share information on specific programs where the community can make an immediate impact on our local economy by supporting our local businesses – which in many cases are our friends and neighbors.
