“Yeah Baby!” Oh, what a funky year! We are just so excited to have the chance to boogie down with our fellow ‘Goldenites’ after all of these months as well as to support all of our local nonprofits, culturals, clubs, schools and downtown Golden restaurants that need us now more than ever!

Foxy mamas, track down your funkadelic go-go boots and mini-skirts. Dudes, dig out your old groovy tie-dye or flashy disco suit. The Golden Civic Foundation is having a 70s-themed “HYBRID” Gala & Auction on Saturday, November 7 starting at 5:30pm!

You may be wondering how the we’re still able to host a fab event?! Well, we’ve got some answers to the most frequently asked questions below…

What is a “HYBRID” Gala?

The Golden Civic Foundation has weathered 50-years of good and bad times and we have never skipped a Gala, so, we’ve got to keep on truckin’ SAFELY on! We’ve carefully crafted three options (explained in further detail below) for our community to keep our good vibes going:

  1. In-Person
  2. Virtual
  3. Donation-Only

If I attend In-Person, how is the Golden Civic Foundation addressing the current health mandates?

The safety of our Gala attendees is of utmost importance. This year’s celebration will be held during a time when public health orders are in place to protect the health and safety of our community. The Golden Civic Foundation and our Restaurant Partners take this responsibility very seriously and have carefully planned and taken the steps required to be compliant with public health orders. As such, public health orders can change rapidly and we will continue to keep abreast of these changes and, if necessary, adjust our plans to remain compliant.

This event is always a blast! What is this year’s theme?

We’re glad you asked! We’re taking you back five decades to the year that the Golden Civic Foundation was established in 1970. We encourage all In-Person guests to wear your best 70’s threads as well as a matching mask (of course!).

This event always sells out so fast…when can we start buying tickets?

Get ready, set and go…Tickets to this swingin’ event will go on sale on Wednesday, October 7th! We have about 250 less In-Person tickets this year so make sure to buy as soon as possible.

Two important “INSIDER” tips:

  2. Tickets are on a first come/first serve basis and each restaurant only has a limited number of seats that they can fill (per health mandates). No additional tickets will be sold once each restaurant meets their capacity.

We want to get our GROOVE-ON safely IN-PERSON, how does that work?

Great! We’ve got a plan for that.

We’re bringing our Gala back into downtown Golden to support many of our local restaurants that we all know and love. The following Golden restaurant partners know how to safely provide you and your friends a great venue and some fantastic food and special menus, drink and outta sight ambiance all while being able to be socially distanced!

  • Bella Colibri (24 attendees)
  • The Rose Venue (78 attendees)
  • Golden Hotel Ballroom (48 attendees)
  • Golden Moon Speakeasy (22 attendees)
  • Miners Saloon (28 attendees)
  • Old Capitol Grill & Smokehouse (48 attendees)
  • Table Mountain Inn, Kokopelli Ballroom (48 attendees)

Not only will guests enjoy being in a smaller cohort of 22 to 78 people per venue (depending on the restaurant capacity) with friends in-person, but capacity at all restaurants is at or below current requirements and tables will be placed at a minimum of 6-feet apart. Guests will also enjoy a groovalicious 4-course “Gala Special” dinner menu along with an entry cocktail provided by Golden Moon Distillery and a glass of wine provided by Ace Liquors. A cash bar will also be available at all venues for additional libations as well as another way to support our great community restaurants. Each restaurant venue only has a limited amount of seats and is on a first come/first serve basis during tickets sales.

Also, be ready to enjoy silent and live auctions from your cell phone as well as a FAR OUT live-streamed program! The In-Person ticket price is $100/person or $600 for a table of six.

We’re not quite ready to get our MOJO on In-Person but still want to participate VIRTUALLY in our own pad, how does that work?

Great! We’ve got a plan for that too.

We’ve partnered with three fantastic Golden restaurants – Nosu Ramen, Tributary Food Hall & Drinkery and Woody’s Wood-Fired Pizza – to provide dining take-out options. Guests can pick up their orders ahead of time and enjoy their meals and the silent and live auctions from their cell phones as well as a FAB live-streamed program – all from the comfort of your own home!

The Virtual/Take-Out ticket price is $50/person or $300 if you want to enjoy a small get together at home for six people.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to participate this year. How can we still support the Golden Civic Foundation?

In-Person Gala: Includes a hand-crafted cocktail drink from Golden Moon Distillery as well as a fantastic 4-course meal and one glass of wine. Enjoy the silent and live auctions from your cell phone as well as watch the live-streamed program. Ticket prices are:

  • Single (1) Ticket – $100
  • Table of Six (6) – $600 (Note: The benefit to buying a table ensures that your friends and you will sit together at the same restaurant venue.)

Virtual Gala: Includes a super groovy 3-course meal to be picked up at the selected take-out restaurant. Enjoy the silent and live auctions from your cell phone as well as watch the live-streamed program. Ticket prices are:

  • Single (1) Ticket – $50
  • Group of Six (6) – $300

We also have FAR OUT SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES – that include tickets – for businesses and individuals to show additional support.

Why are we raising money?

Proceeds from this event go towards supporting the Golden Civic Foundation’s Community & Special Grants Program which benefits Golden-based non-profit organizations and schools. Since 1970, the Golden Civic Foundation has invested in numerous civic development projects and has provided more than $6.4 million of funding to charitable organizations, public schools, government, museums and cultural centers in the greater Golden area with our Community Grant Program. How does my business and/or family sponsor the event?

Your financial community investment above and beyond will really make an impact on the amount of grants that we’re able to fund through our Community and Special Grant Program!! What happens if the pandemic gets worse and shuts everything down?

The good news is that we’re planning for the worst and expecting for the best. Regardless of health mandates, we will still be able to host a virtual gig. That means that you will still be able to bid on both the silent and live auctions from our online auction app along and watch a groovy live-streamed program.

Should we have to cancel the “In-Person” event, your ticket purchase will not be refunded but will convert to a “Virtual” ticket which includes a take-out version of your already purchased meal (thus still providing support of our local restaurant partners) and access to our silent auction and livestream broadcast program on the evening of November 7th. Ticket sales are an important part of the Golden Civic Foundation’s annual fundraising revenue that helps support our Community Grant Program and a cancellation will result in a decrease in the amount of grants that we give to support the many nonprofits and schools in Golden that make a positive impact in our community.
