As of late August, the Golden Civic Foundation released additional funds from the COVID-19 Community Response Fund to:
- The Christian Action Guild to them to help them to continue to stock their food pantry shelves, deliver food to their most vulnerable clients, and to assist with rent and utilities.
- Fund a grant that allowed the Colorado School of Mines Foundation to work with Golden-based Golden Moon Distillery to purchase and distribute personal bottles of hand sanitizer to all students returning for the 2020-21 school year.
- Shelton Elementary School to help them fund the work of their Family Engagement Liaison (FEL) for the 2020-21 school year. The FEL plays a critical role at Shelton in terms of providing families with social support. Shelton leadership expects that the position will have increased demands this year in terms of helping families with stabilization and recovery support due to the COVID-19 crisis.
