The Golden Civic Foundation, and our sponsor partners, are proud to announce that the 44th Annual Gala & Auction will be held on Saturday, October 12th at the Colorado School of Mines’ Lockridge Arena from 5 – 11 p.m. For many “Goldenites,” this is the social event of the year, where locals come together to support their town. Funds raised from the event benefit the Golden Civic Foundation’s Community Grant Program.

This year’s “Giddy Up Gala: A Night of Boots, Bourbon and Beer” will celebrate Golden’s vintage Western history including many of Golden’s most colorful characters from the late 1800’s.  The event will be emcee’d by Paul Andrews, the President & CEO of the National Western Stock Show and a third-generation Golden ranching family descendant. Guests are encouraged to don their best Western wear for a rip-roaring evening of fun including State 38 handcrafted bourbon and gin-based cocktails, Coors Brewing Co./AC Golden beer tastings, a four-course dinner and exciting live and silent auctions.  High-energy entertainment will be provided by champion trick roper, “Cowboy Craig Ingram,” Ragtime pianist Randy Johnson, Golden’s Heritage Square Music Hall pianist for more than 30 years, and, the bass-baritone powerhouse, Matt Buckstein (of American Idol fame), and his Buckstein band, aim to fill the dance floor with their boot-scootin’ after-party sound.

Over the past 44 years, the Golden Civic Foundation has raised more than $6.1 million in proceeds from this annual event that has been invested back into the Golden community via a Community Grant program that supports local charitable organizations, public schools, museums and cultural centers. In 2018, the Golden Civic Foundation contributed nearly $200,000 to the community, including $76,000 to the Golden High School Community Track Renovation Project.

“The Golden Civic Foundation has been dedicated to our mission of investing in the economic and cultural vitality of the Golden community for nearly five decades. As part of this mission, our annual Gala and Auction is an exciting 44-year tradition that brings together people in our community that genuinely want to make a difference, raising funds for our local nonprofit organizations and schools that make a positive impact on the quality of life in Golden,” said Heather Schneider, Executive Director of the Golden Civic Foundation.
